Bway Youth Ministry
In the Broadway Youth Ministry, it’s a family thing.
At Broadway, we feel it is important to empower our parents to be an active part of the ministry to their youth. The job of a youth minister or staff member is to enhance the spiritual work done in the home… and in some cases, also to help create a spiritual atmosphere in the home.
We believe that our youth live in a broken world, a world that sin has corrupted. Our desire is to raise and empower a new generation of youth that can have an impact on that broken world… a group of young men and women who can step out with confidence and let the love of Christ shine through the overflow of the Spirit in their own lives.
With this in mind, our Family/Youth Minister families are very involved in the planning of activities and weekly worship with our teens. It’s no surprise to see almost as many adults as there are youth at one of our youth group events.
From the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.
OVERFLOW is our Wednesday night gathering. The purpose of this time is to allow the Spirit of Christ to pour into our lives until our cup overflows… allowing people to see HIS Spirit and not ours.
What Should I Expect?
The gathering is open to all ages, but specifically tailored for 7th-12th grade students. The instrumental-based worship team is led by Gary Moyers and the worship band consists of members of the youth group. A message is usually presented by someone from the youth committee. You’ll soak it all in as you sink in to any number of available couches. Dress is extremely casual… come as you are.
Is It Just a Worship Time?
Yes and no. Life is worship, so in a sense this is one big worship event. But we also have some pretty serious rounds of Oklahoma Ping Pong, snacks and drinks, games and lots of fellowship. And, of course, Bryan will share some wisdom from the Word of God and direct some group experiences.
What Time Does it Start?
Worship is scheduled to start at 6:30, but if there are more than 10 people still involved in the ping pong battle, it could start a bit later.
