West Texas Women’s Worship Conference

Saturday, March 2, 2019 Broadway Church of Christ 10AM-5PM

Please join us for a day of worship and fellowship at Broadway Church of Christ. Ladies from all over the high plains of West Texas, Eastern New Mexico and Oklahoma will converge in Lubbock on March 2 to sing together, share, learn and pray.
Kaley Ihfe and Lisa Fraze will deliver inspirational messages. Lacy Chappell will lead acappella worship with her team of highly talented vocalists. Penny Kendall, Chelsea Cockrell, Peyton Fortner and Jamie Wheeler will lead informative and helpful breakout sessions. This is a day especially for ladies and you don’t want to miss it.
The event is free of charge. Childcare will be provided on site (please register below). Lunch will be provided at the building. And yes, men will be present, but mostly in the kitchen and nursery.

Kaley Ihfe is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She has two degrees from Abilene Christian University and is currently working on a third in Christian Ministry. She has been a Campus Activities Director, middle school theater and language arts teacher, middle school counselor, and stay-at-home mom. She has served churches (as a volunteer) alongside her husband, Karl Ihfe, in ministry for almost 19 years: 12 in Austin and 6 1/2 in Lubbock. In doing all of these things, she has realized that her most important identity is found in being created and loved by God – an identity that is true for each one of us!
Lisa  received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Lubbock Christian University and her Master of Arts  degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.  She currently holds a license in Social Work and is also finishing her internship for her Licensed Professional Counselor license. She worked as a crisis counselor in the Fort Worth area and is now working as the Director of Stewardship at LCU. Her and her husband, David, have been married  for 28 years and together they present seminars called Front Porch Parenting and Front Porch Marriages. They have been working with adolescents and their families in ministry for over 28 years. Their son Braeden attends LCU and their daughter, Shelbee, is at the 9th Grade Center in Frenship ISD.

Lacy spent most of her childhood in Sweetwater, TX. As a child of a missionary family, she spent her high school years in Scotland. After her graduation, she moved back to the States as a student at Adventures in Missions. AIM sent her to Phoenix as a missionary apprentice for 18 months. She returned to Lubbock and enrolled at Lubbock Christian University. She’s has been a member of the singing group Best Friends for 3 years and is a two-time Master Follies hostess. She will be leading worship with a team of women comprised of members of Best Friends and worship team members from Broadway.

PENNY KENDALL – Worship in the Practice of Stillness
God beckons us into the stillness of His presence—to get to know Him there and to be refreshed and transformed there. Yet, finding that place of pause can often be a struggle. Join Penny as she shares a deeper understanding of what it means to “Be Still & Know” and offers you simple ways to step into His presence in your everyday moments.
PEYTON FORTNER – Worship in Creative Journaling
Creative journaling is a unique way to worship through artistic means. There are no limits to creative journaling, and even if you believe you have no artistic talents, God can speak to you anyway. His creation is beautiful, and so is yours.
CHELSEA COCKRELL – Worship in the Wild
As a full time minister, I have to get creative with how, when, & where I worship. When most believers go to church, I go to work. But lucky for us, we worship a God not confined to only Sundays & Wednesdays. Stepping off the paved road & into the wild freedom that is worship is an incredible adventure!
JAIME WHEELER – Worship through Service
Jesus taught many times about pure worship and it was usually related to humility and service. What does that look like? How does one worship through their service?
