Mama
Nel's Library is intended to be a reading program for adults and
children (age 2-12). Its primary purpose is to provide the books,
environment, and opportunity, for adults to read to their children.
Secondary purposes are to provide a creative opportunity for
non-violent offenders on probation in the criminal justice system a
chance to comply with their community service requirement by spending
time with their children.
It
has been decided that this library will be created at the Broadway
Church of Christ as a resource to be used for our community. This will
entail working with and through the Probation Service. It also will
provide an additional resource for the judges of Lubbock when they are
sentencing non-violent offenders.
